Planning/Permitting Support Advisor Job Spec

Location:        Sileby, Leicestershire

Salary:            To be agreed – based on experience.

Car:                 A mileage rate would be provided in line with HMRC advice.

Hours:            40 hours per week minimum, but must be willing to work outside normal working hours for travel etc if required.

Holiday:          20 days per year plus all statutory holidays

Role:               To provide support for the Planning and Permitting services offered by 360 Environmental to the waste and recycling industry.

The Environmental Permitting Regulations require sites which carry out waste treatment operations – such as metal scrap yards, wood recycling facilities and waste transfer stations - to be permitted. Permitting will usually also require  planning approval.

Initially, the Support Advisor will be required to carry out the following duties:

·         Prepare documentation on the instructions of existing 360 staff.

·         Submit documentation to clients and discuss changes that may be required.

·         Finalise documentation for submission to Local Authorities and the Environment Agency.

·         Respond to queries from potential clients.

·         Identify new clients and sector opportunities.

·         Work with the Trade Associations to develop and market new opportunities.

·         Carry out the support administration – filing, invoicing etc – required for this activity.

It would be expected that the Advisor would rapidly move towards a proactive business development role, creating their own client base and generating new leads and revenue.

Experience required:

Essential: Background in waste related permitting or planning employment. Understanding of relevant planning/permitting legislation to basic level.

Skills required:         

Good verbal skills. Attention to detail. Ability to write good English. Good numerical skills. Competent in Office Programmes including Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Proficient on the internet and able to navigate to find appropriate material.
