Scotland announces intention to apply carbon metric to recycling 17 MAR
The Scottish Government has announced that following a study last year, they will be moving towards a carbon metric assessment when considering the benefits of recycling.

European Council backs % targets on EEE placed on the market 15 MAR

The prices below are an indication of available spot prices for 2011 PRNs (last week in brackets) taking commission into account. PRN price history shown here.
Very little trading at the moment as producers and schemes get their data together for early April, but prices seem to have softened slightly on the two materials where there have been worries about supply - glass and aluminium. 
The next set of data that is due to be released by the EA will be the final 2010 dataset on 31st March. Q1 2011 data will be available 22nd April.

I was driving this morning when I saw an RAC van parked up. The driver was sobbing uncontrollably and looked very miserable. I thought to myself, that guy's heading for a breakdown.

A man dressed as a pirate has been accused of illegally being in possession of a cutlass. Police were called in to a minor road collision where they found one of the drivers dressed as a seafaring brigand. A Sussex police spokesman said a 60 year-old had been arrested.
