ECJ ruling overrules Annex VII confidentiality claims for waste shipments 21 MAY
The European Court of Justice rules that waste exporter waste export Annex VII's must show details of waste generator. 

Packaging obligation figures published 15 MAY
2012 packaging obligation data shows little change from 2011.

Scotland passes new Waste Regulations into law 14 MAY
The Scottish Government has approved the new Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 which will require Scottish businesses to separate their waste for recycling.

Packaging recycling data remains low for Q1 3 MAY
Confirmed data retains sharp fall in plastic and glass recycling leading to concerns over the ability for the 2012 targets to be met.

The next data that is due will be the Q2 recycling data that should be published on 23 July.
Plastic PRNs have risen sharply on the low tonnages revealed in the Q1 data recycling data.

We get a lot of equiries about SIC codes at the moment. Just a reminder that we have a SIC Code search facility on the www.wastesupport.co.uk website which also contains an EWC Code search facility and other tools such as a list of all current and old Exemption. 

We have been developing a Compliance Database tool which is now up and running in test form. This allows subscribers to upload documents (such as Environmental Permits) and place all the compliance issues and due dates for a facility or number of facilities on an on-line site for easy password-controlled access. A traffic light system warns users of impending renewals together with an automated email reminder.
