Farm Services

Visit our new Farmsupport website to find out more about our specialist services and farm waste legislation.

Having been exempt for many years, farms are now becoming increasingly subject to environmental legislation. Many farmers find it hard to stay up to date with all the new infrastructure, operational, and paperwork requirements at the same time as keeping the farm operating on a day to day basis.

Falling behind on paperwork, or not staying up to date with legislation can have serious consequences for a farm, as non-compliance in many cases can lead to prosecution or loss of a proportion of single farm payment.

It is also clear that the Environment Agency are focussing on the composting and land spreading industry. A recent raid at a composting facility in Yorkshire led to the arrest of two men and farmers need to ensure that they are not caught up in illegal disposal of what is still considered to be waste. An article covering the arrests can be found here.
