Non-OECD country responses to B3011 request

03 AUGUST 2021

The list below shows the countries that have responded to Defras request to non-OECD to confirm their position on the acceptance of B3011 plastic waste under Article 18 green list.

This was to enable Defra to amend EU Regulation 1418/2007 carried over after Brexit to take account of the Basel coding change for plastic waste from B3010 to B3011. The International Waste Shipments (Amendment of Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 and 1418/2007) Regulations 2021 came into force on 29 July 2021.

All non-OECD countries were contacted but only those listed below responded with information on national controls. For any non-OECD country that did not respond at all and is not listed on the Defra summary spreadsheet, B3011 waste will have to be exported under notification procedures if permitted by the destination country.

The responses are redacted and Defra advise that regardless of the response, exporters should still contact the relevant authorities to confirm local controls before arranging export.
