WRAP launch 'WEEE Good Practice Collection and Treatment' Guide

Late last year, WRAP issued a contract to three consultancies to look at providing a 'Good Practice Guide' for WEEE management at storage facilities, collection and treatment. The results of this project have now been launched as an on-line Guide with sections for:

• AATFs
• AEs
• DCF operators
• Business users of EEE
• Haulage companies
• Producer Compliance Schemes
• EEE Producers
• EEE retailers
• Third sector
• Waste collection authorities
  
• Waste disposal authorities
• Waste management companies

Each section then has a number of documents that can be viewed on line or downloaded and printed.

It will be interesting to see whether these have an impact on the WEEE market and the processes in use. With the Regulations having now been in place for 3 years and generally, the system having settled in, most practitioners will be operating to the standards required by their customers and the enforcement authorities.
