At about this time each year, the EA publishes the consolidated data reported by permitted sites in their quarterly returns – the Waste Data Interrogator.
The latest data for 2021 was published at the end of September. It lists every facility showing the tonnage received and the tonnage removed by EWC code and facility type – landfill, transfer station etc. The waste received stats, for instance, showing that 39.73m tonnes was landfilled in 2021, a 10% rise on 2020.
