Defra has sent out a newsletter providing further information on EPR and DRS.
For those following EPR, there has been concern at two cancellations of the expected session on Nation Sales Data. This has been particularly disappointing as it is probably the area over which there is most confusion at the moment – and that’s saying a lot.
The EPR update provides a link to the webinar on youtube but we have also then extracted this into slides. This provides a lot of useful information and some Q&A exemples, but what was particularly interesting was the fact that Nation Sales Data will have to be submitted by both large AND small producers. The data for 2023 doesn’t have to be submitted until the end of 2024 and in my eyes, is ridiculously complicated. Given that most large producers don’t seem to know what’s coming, let alone small producers who generally have no idea about EPR, asking them to submit data on something this confusing a year after the data year ends would seem somewhat optimistic..
